Aaaaahhh!!! Ok so tonight is transfer calls. We expect that the two of us will stay together but we are not not so sure! We had a call from President and he was pretty concerned about Sister Muhlmann driving and being so far away from a decent doctor. We are now terrified that she will be transferred. He is going to pray about it so if she goes, we know it is what the Lord wants. Hopefully he wants us to stay together though.
Oh and guess what, I remembered my camera cable so you will get pictures!! ;) hahaha
This week: It has been an interesting one.
Monday: District P-Day. Sister Muhlmann and I went up to Aberystwyth to the Elders area. We had no clue what we were doing because they wanted it to be a surprise. It was lol. Some of you might know about the wonderful missionary mini series called 'The District'. If you haven't seen it, it is on lds.org or mormonchannel. Watch it! Basically it takes you through life as a missionary. Well we ended up filming our own, funny, versions of the District. We showed how to tract, GQ, eat healthy and have a District Meeting... Or how not to do it. It was so much fun! And then we went and bought lunch and ate it by the sea. We are totally not jealous that they live right by the sea with an amazing view... Not Jealous at all. At All. It was great to just relax and hang out! I loved it! We also have a feeling that our District Leader will be transferred so it was a nice little goodbye. We also got to play table football but the Elders won. It is the table from their flat though so they always play. Then we had a sleepover with the Sister Training Leaders. They are great and it was funny!
Tuesday: Zone Conference! Today was awesome! We went on splits with the STLs because Sister Muhlmann had a hospital appointment in Swansea in the morning and Sister Rasmussen didn't want me to miss any of my first Zone Conference. I went to Cardiff with Sister Appleby and it was really good. There was the Merthyr Zone, Cardiff Zone and Cheltenham zones 1 & 2 (although everyone is calling no 2 Gloucester zone). So I saw Elder Turney... I think mom said that he already sent home the picture. President and Sister Rasmussen are just incredible. President is so inspired and he is just a genius. I learnt so much from him! I had such a great day. The spirit was so strong in the room and I loved every minute of it!
Then I took part in the musical item. There were 4 of us from my MTC group that took part in it. Me, the wonderful Sister Sorenson and also Elder Laird and Elder Woodruff. Obviously there were others who did it too but they were the ones from the MTC. I also met Elder Greaves. He was in charge of the musical item. He is from Maidstone. His grandparents are Daphne and Charles Greaves in Ashford ward, so we talked about that... (Zach, he asked about you. I told him you were a terrible person ;) kidding. He just wanted to know if you were back yet.)
The rest of Zone Conference was pretty cool. I learnt so much and we talked about being bold and so I am going to try that more often!
The rest of the week was pretty tough. On Wednesday Sister M was confined to bed because she was doing pretty bad. So I got to do some studying and Ensign reading and also I decorated my planner for next transfer... It looks wonderful! I will take a photo for next week.
Thursday we taught our Chinese investigator. She is just Golden! We love her! But we are worried that she lives in the Milford Haven boundaries. We don't know though, we don't have her address because we teach her in her shop that she works in all day, all week. Our investigator family are causing us a lot of difficulty. They keep cancelling our lessons with them even after they rearrange to a time that they can do. The 9 year old son is due to be baptized on the 11th and he is so desperate and excited but because of his parents, he is not getting out to church or having the lessons. We are not sure whether his parents are totally committed or not. :( They are so nice too!
Friday we had weekly planning and flat inspections... Our flat was spotless... after like 2 hours of cleaning! haha! We are pros at cleaning.
Saturday was just so tough! We ended up buying chocolate at dinner time to cheer ourselves up but that didn't help so we sang along to EFY music in the car at a very loud level! Nothing seemed to go right even though we were so pumped and excited for the plans that we had made.
Church on Sunday made us feel a lot better though. It was just wonderful to feel the Spirit at the chapel and take the sacrament and have a break. Loved it! An we had munch and mingle afterwards and we got to know some more members of the ward!
Well we hope that next week will be more successful for us but we know that we tried our hardest! We are going to try even harder next week!
Love you all soo much!!
Love Sister Gaffney
