Hey People!
So this week has been a bit all over the place. We have been doing a lot of finding this week and so there has been a lot of knocking on doors and a lot of street-contacting. We have also both been ill this week and we have also been back to Birmingham this week!
Tuesday we found the most Golden Investigator Ever! She is Chinese! Her name is Ning Li and she just loved everything that we were saying to her. We taught her a lesson after she invited us in. Then during the lesson, she felt the spirit so strong and she even cried. She invited us back too and she seemed really excited. So the highlight of Tuesday was the European Women's Conference that we were so blessed to be able to watch with the Sisters of our Ward. I absolutely loved it! Beforehand I was super tired but it was like as soon as it started, I was wide awake! I felt the spirit so strong and I just loved the talks. I have to admit that since I came on my mission, Elder Bednar has become my favourite Apostle. I loved him before but at the MTC we got to watch some devotionals and I have read some of his talks from past conferences too and he just has all the answers to my questions. On Tuesday it was exactly the same. In like his first sentence I felt like I knew what the Lord wanted me to hear and I just left the conference feeling so much better and I decided then that he was my new favourite Apostle... President Uchdorf is still up there though... A very close second.
Wednesday we was district meeting and we were also joined by the zone leaders. They were going to be going on transfers with The Aber Elders so they came to District Meeting first. It was way cool. We talked about the Book of Mormon being totally important and we made a goal to use it more in our finding and our teaching. Then we had lunch with them. The zone leaders are just so great. Elder Steele is American and Elder Lowe is Australian. Then me and Sister M found the Promised land! So we decided that we wanted to go and check out this town that was basically untouched and so after District meeting, we drove up there. We started tracting and it was like all the prepared people had gathered in this lovely town called Lampeter! It was pretty dead but the people that we spoke to were all so prepared. We Love Lampeter! We are definitely going to make more of an effort to build up this wonderful little town. We have some super good potentials and some that might need some more work but we are excited to go back on Wednesday this week. We definitely saw some miracles there!
Thursday was another finding day but it was awesome. We went to stop by a less-active but she wasn't in and then we did some finding! I am starting to enjoy finding a lot more but it still can be too much especially when we don't have any lessons to break it up. But we went by a potentials house because we hadn't been able to get in contact with him and he said that he was too ill to come down and see us. :( Then when we were walking back to the car, there he was!! He stopped to talk to us and said that he wants to see us again and he really did seem sick :(
I am just going to tell you all now that I am an amazing cook! Just saying. Mom I know you taught me it all but my cooking skills are a hit with Sister M. She doesn't really like cooking because she says she is rubbish at it. I made the best Spaghetti Bolognese this week... Twice because our meat was fresh and we had to use it before it went funny. It tasted so good. I was super impressed with it. We have been trying to eat more healthy now too so when we cook for ourselves, we are trying to cook healthier meals. And it is working! I have lost 3 pounds! Yayay!
Friday was such a long day! We had to get up at 6 on Friday Morning because we had to be in Birmingham by 10:30. We were so tired! We had a follow-up meeting for all the trainers and the trainees (the new-bees). So everyone that was in my MTC group and some that came from Provo MTC, all had a meeting with President and Sister Rasmussen. It was awesome! I loved getting to see everyone again! It was a little bit weird but totally cool! Me and Sister Sorenson were reunited :) And we even sat next to each other during the meeting haha.
We got some really good advice, especially some study tips! Already I have seen a difference since I have been applying them. The Zone Leaders actually talked about the same things with us in Zone Meeting but it was cool to hear it from President Rasmussen too. Then we had to travel back to Wales. Good ol' Wales. I was a bit gutted to be leaving England again just because of the thought that I was no longer in England but I love being in Wales too. We were exhausted by the time we got home!
Saturday I was ill. :( It sucked. We have to phone Sister Rasmussen when we are sick and she said that there were missionaries who had the same thing as me, just a bug going around, so that means that one of them gave it to me at Training meeting and I have to find out who haha! But I slept for most of the day and felt much better yesterday.
Yesterday we saw an awesome miracle! So we have been praying for a less-active family this week and we asked some members and also our District, Zone and Sister Training Leaders to pray for them too. The other times that we have stopped by, they have completely ignored the knock on the door even though they could obviously see us through the window. So we decided they we would try again but we prayed that they would listen to us and at least open the door. Last night we stopped by their house and not only did they let us in, but they invited us back this evening so that the whole family would be there! PRAYER WORKS!!! I have now got such a strong testimony of prayer and the amazing power that it has. I am so grateful and also quite scared about tonight but looking forward to it.
Well today we were in Aberystwyth for a District P-Day and we were making videos like 'The District'. It was so funny and we had such a laugh. Then we went and ate lunch by the castle and the sea. It was awesome!!
Well we have to get back now because after the family visit tonight, we are going to Merthyr! We are staying at the Sister Training Leaders place tonight so that we can go on splits for Zone Conference. I am going to zone conference and Sister M has her doctors appointment and then she will come to Cardiff afterwards.
Adios!!
Love you all and miss you loads!!!
