Farewell Sister Cook!
Hello Family and Friends!
So this week has been a little bit more difficult. Mainly because we got sick... But I'll get to that bit later.
So Monday was P-Day. After we had finished emailing, well actually it was during, we got a mysterious text message from President that said that we needed to call ASAP. We both knew what it meant already but I called him... Obviously. Then he said he had been prompted to... ... ... Call me as a trainer!!!! So I am going to be having a baby! You should be so proud! I know that it is going to be terrifying but everyone else thinks I can do it and clearly the Lord can see much clearer than me.
Tuesday, We had District Meeting with the Aber Elders and the Zone Leaders came too! Yay for District Meeting!!! It was so much fun. So first of all, we had a wonderful lunch prepared for us by Sister Hutchinson! It was so cute! There were Christmas Crackers, A Christmas card and even cute little Christmas presents for each of us!! We were so grateful. We had Christmas music playing and we just had a great time! Lots of fun and laughter. Then we had a really awesome District meeting that ran over.
We had a really good lesson that afternoon with a new investigator who we are sooo excited for. She used to be a Jehovah's Witness and then she got to Revelations and it didn't seem true to her so she left and started to search for the truth! Then she found us and felt like maybe it was an answer to her prayers! Well Duh! Haha, kidding. But she has a cute little family. A daughter and A son.
Then we had a really good dinner appointment and we loved it! After that we went looking for an AUF called Ursula. We were really excited to try and find her cos her name was awesome! She lives in New Quay and so we were really excited to go to the sea but it was dark and it just looked so creepy and totally like a ghost town. Her house was this old inn too and it looked really sketch and creepy and there were creepy trees all around it so we abandoned that quest and went to the sea for a bit and then it was time to go home and plan. Fun day haha!
Wednesday I got sick! Elder Steel, as lovely and wonderful as he is, came to district meeting sick and then lo and behold, I got sick the next day! I felt awful. But I didn't want to go back to the flat, so we kept on working. At one point though I was sat on a bench while Sister Cook was GQing and then she turned, looked at me and started laughing because I just looked dead. Sad right! But I didn't go in until 9! Good Job Sister Gaffney!
Thursday I was still sick but I was up and working hard. We taught out 2 wonderful investigators that day too so that was fun! But I felt awful by the evening again so we cancelled dinner and I went home to the warm and Sister Cook and my District Leader sent me to bed early!
Friday! I got up at 5:05am!! I had to go to Birmingham today with Sister Crowley for Specialized training meeting for new trainers. It was really good! President is so inspired and wonderful and I feel a lot better about training now. But it was such a long day. We trained there and back and I just wanted to die cos I was still sick! But I was fine. And president basically told me that I was going to be staying in Newcastle too so that was wonderful to hear.
We also taught a lesson that night to our investigator Edgar but he was not interested in finding out if it was true so we dropped him...:( we were sad cos he looks like the guy from up and a minion all mixed together!
Saturday was a lot of finding and we had our Ward Christmas Party! It was fun! I really enjoyed it! And we sang in the choir and that was good too! You know me, I love to Sing!
Yesterday was good too, we found some really cool people. And we got to watch the Christmas Devotional too! Wasn't it so good! I loved President Eyring's talk!! Emosh much?!!
Today we had District P-Day with the Elders! I just love our District! It's going to be so sad when Sister Cook leaves... Tomorrow! The Elders filled our camera's with the weirdest pictures in the world but I am not sad in the slightest! It is brilliant! We played Chair football ( I was abysmal at it) and Hockey (I was a beast at it) and then we started to play a board game but we definitely got bored very easily.
Well I love you all!
Love Sister Gaffney

P.S. Thank you for the Christmas Package Libby and Jeremy, I can't wait to open it on Christmas Day. It is nestled safely under our tree.
