Hiiiiii!!!!
Dang it! I left my other planner at home so I have no idea what we did this week!
Ok, after emailing last week, the weather was so good that we went back to the flat to get lunch and then... We went and had a picnic at the park! It was awesome! We just chilled in the sun. I loved it! And I started to get some tan lines. Missionary tan lines are the funniest. I have them on my feet from my shoes. It makes me so happy that I am getting a tan! There has been a lot of sun this week and it makes me very happy... Anyway...
I really am struggling to remember what we did this week. I feel like this whole week has just been kind of a blur! We taught some cool lessons this week! We have met some really cool people this week.
We have an investigator at the moment who is preparing to be baptized in May. He is so cool! We've been teaching him for a while now and he just loves everything. His friend came to the lesson on Saturday and when we invited his friend to church he just kept testifying about how happy Church makes him and how it is such a different happy to anything else that he has felt.
This week we have been focusing a lot on prayer for some of our investigators and it was really cool. We had District meeting about prayer and I learnt so much for myself as well as for our investigators. Prayer is such a special privilege that we have. I love knowing that I can communicate with my Father in Heaven no matter where I am or what I am doing. I think it is fantastic. And I love that we have the promise that He will answer our prayers. I was reading in True to the Faith and one thing that it said that I loved was,
"He may not always answer as you expect, but He does answer - in His own time and according to His will."
I think that is something that I often forget. I know that sometimes I want my answers as soon as I say Amen. It doesn't work like that. But I do know that when we do get our answers, it is at the time that we need them. Heavenly Father knows more than we do and something that I am really learning since I've been out is that I need to trust in my Heavenly Father because He sees the bigger picture.
In the fourth lesson of Preach My Gospel, it talks about the commandment to Pray Often. It is a really good section. We talked about the paragraph where we are told the blessings that we receive from praying often.
"As we pray with faith, sincerity, and real intent, we will see God's influence in our lives. He will guide us in our daily lives and help us make good decisions. He will bless us with feelings of comfort and peace. He will warn us of danger and strengthen us to resist temptation. He will forgive our sins. We will feel closer to Him. We must learn to recognize His influence in our lives. We must learn to listen to the still, small voice of the Spirit."
These blessings are for everyone. They are for my investigators, for you and they are also for me! As we studied this in District meeting this week, it really resonated with me that these blessings are mine too. Heavenly Father wants us to talk with Him. He wants us to ask our questions. And most importantly, He wants to answer us. And He does. Just like it says in Preach My Gospel, we have to listen for His answers that come from the still, small voice.
Well I think that is about all I have to share with you this week. I miss you all so much and I love reading your emails and letters.
Oh one more thing... We only have a mission conference this week! Yes all the missionaries in the England Birmingham Mission are meeting together for a conference about Becoming a Disciple of the Digital World. How cool is that?! Wait, I'm not done. We will be joined by 2 Area Seventies for this Conference too! It is going to be the best day ever! I am so excited! I will get to see Sister Rasmussen!!! Yay :)
I'll take lots of pictures and let you know how it all goes!
I Love You!!!
