It is a new week and a new transfer! Sister Reed has gone home! Like home home!
I have a new companion... Sister Cook!
Sister Cook is from Idaho Falls and she is pretty cool! She was one of my Sister Training Leaders in my first transfer and we actually went on exchange together! She has been out for 17 months so she is also on her last transfer. So that means in my first four transfers, I will have 4 companions. And by January, my first 3 companions will all be home! But I am grateful to have this transfer to serve with Sister Cook! Miracles are already happening and I can't wait to see even more.
OH! Sister Muhlmann is now a Sister Training Leader in Nottingham! Just thought I would let you all know and also let you know that I totally predicted that she would become STL. tehe!
Anyway, so this week obviously was transfers. On Monday we had District P-day and we went to Aberystwyth and played like Ping-pong and hockey and stuff and that was pretty fun. And we had lunch by the beach in the 'cold'. (I didn't think it was so cold but then again I did go to the beach in Cornwall...)
Then that evening we got the dodge call and I got told I was staying! I was super happy about that :) But my District leader has now moved on to a new area and Elder Bos has now become district leader here and has a new companion.
Tuesday, Sister Reed left for the mission home so I spent the afternoon in Swansea with Sister Slack. She is pretty dang cool and we had a good afternoon. Then we went and got take out for dinner and then we had to catch the train to Rhwibina. We went to the Chapel and got to see the Rhwibina elders too, Elder Laird from my group was there and we got to hang out with them all for a while. Then me and Sister Slack went and stayed with the Sisters over night and in the morning we all went our seperate ways.
I spent the day with the Cardiff sisters in Cardiff obviously and that was fun. We saw some cool people and got to see some of the Cardiff elders too so we had a good day. Then I got Sister Cook and we have just been finding and working hard!
So let me tell you about some cool stuff. We have 2 new investigators this week. One of them is getting baptized on the 22nd of this month!!
She is philippino and she was actually a member referal. She has been taught all the lessons over in the philippines and she was supposed to be baptized but the elders lost their phone and didn't contact her and then they got transferred and so she never got baptized. For the last 2 or so years, she just keeps getting re-taught the lessons and not getting baptized. So when we invited her to be baptized on the 22nd, she was so happy and the spirit was so strong that she started to cry. Then I thought that I was going to cry and it was awesome!
We also have another investigator that we are working with who is a student at the university in Carmarthen. She is pretty cool too and she is super keen to meet with us and learn more about the church. She seems to really like what we are teaching her and she likes the Book of Mormon! We are seeing her again this evening and we are going to invite her to be baptized! I am looking forward to it!
Well I am going to sign off now but I am so excited for this transfer and for the miracles that I know are going to happen!
Love you!!
Sister Gaffney
