Aaahhh! We are already over halfway through the first transfer.
So this week we have had a lot of ups and downs. Sister Muhlmann has really not been well and I haven't been 100% either. But we are pressing forwards! Sister Muhlmann has actually been told by Sister Rasmussen that she has to rest and so there has been some time in the flat. Please keep Sister Muhlmann in your prayers, she is not getting any better at all and after 3 pointless trips to the Doctors, she has an appointment with a specialist next week in Swansea. We will hopefully find out what is causing all her illness. :(I have been hit with a wave of exhaustion this week and also my homesickness has finally hit. :( I tried to hide it from my companion but she is very perceptive and knew that something was up. I have been working super hard though and that just made me feel even more tired and fed up haha. But I love the work that we are doing and wouldn't change it for the world.
We've had a lot of rejection this week and some of our lessons that we were super excited for were cancelled or we were flogged. It sucks when that happens but I know that there is someone waiting for me to find them and I will not stop until they are baptized haha and then I will continue on!
This week has been eventful though. On Thursday we had Zone Meeting. Our Zone Leaders are great and I learnt so much from them. They are so funny and goofy and awesome. They are also amazing teachers and are totally guided by the spirit. I loved Zone Meeting and I am gutted that we only get one a transfer. :( There are 4 missionaries from my MTC group, me and 3 Elders. Elder Woodruff, Elder Palu and Elder Hern. It was awesome to see them again and they are such great guys. We had a wonderful game of baseball in the chapel kitchen during lunch haha. We just used a rolling pin and some screwed up tin foil. It was such a laugh and so much fun. The Merthyr Zone are great! I am so excited for Zone Conference to see them all again and also to meet Cardiff Zone. We think Zone Conference is next week but it could be this week... Probably not though.
After Zone Conference, me and Sister M had exchanges with the Sister Training Leaders. I went to Merthyr with Sister Cook and Sister Appleby went back to Newcastle with Sister M. It was such a great experience. We had to drop the Merthyr Elders off first though so we had an hours car journey with them. I now have some selfies of Elder Wiser and Elder Palu on my camera that I found the day after haha. They are great and it was cool to hear from Elder Palu about how the rest of my MTC District are doing. Me and Sister Cook did a lot of street contacting and tracting. I actually really enjoyed it because we found some seriously Golden people. We also had a DA with a family who are originally from Devon. They and got back that day from holidaying down south and our dinner with them was Cornish Pasties that they had bought back with them!!! I can't tell you how excited I was. We had a 'pasty' the other week and I was just desperate to have a real Cornish pasty...
I was once again reunited with Sister M and we did a lot more tracting and street contacting (GQing). We found some really good potentials and some of them are just so prepared and we really get annoyed with agency throughout our day haha.
My zone leaders think I'm weird lol. I was on the phone with Elder Steele last night for call-ins and when I told him my favourite music was country he told me I was weird because I'm British haha. Then he just laughed at me because he asked if I had any pets back home and I told him I have an Eight year old brother... Apparently that was really funny. He laughed at me a lot during our chat, but all I did was answer his questions! :P I'm a funny person!
Oooh and next week when I send pictures you will se my amazing cooking skills. We have decided that we are going to eat really healthy and do proper cooking so we have had some good meals. Today I made Spaghetti Bolognese and it was sooooooo good. Momma you would have been proud.
Well I am being rushed away... I can't send pictures this week but I will next week!!!
Love you all and can't wait to talk to you next week :)
Love Sister Gaffney
