Hey, it's me again!
First of all I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! It is such a special time of the year when we can remember our Saviour and all that He did for us. I am so grateful for a time when there is such a huge focus on Jesus Christ. Because without Christ, there would be no Christmas. There would be no way to be with our families for all eternity. There would be no forgiveness, no hope of a second chance, no knowledge that all would be made right again. Christmas is just another reminder to me of our Heavenly Father's love for each and every one of His children. Christ came for each one of us, for every man, woman and child who is, was and will be on the earth.
This week has been such a strange week for me as a missionary! It has been so different from normal. On Saturday I sent out a brief email. I talked about our Zone Meeting/Christmas party that we had.
"Christmas Eve we had Zone Meeting, but it was basically just a big party! So much crazy! We played different games and had different activities and challenges to do as a District to earn points. It was really competitive at points. I just enjoyed watching everyone acting like idiots. We had some really great activities. And we even ended with each having to do a dance as a district. That was my least favourite part! hahaha"
Then after we had our 'party' we caught the train out to our Ward Mission Leaders house where we spent the remainder of our Christmas Eve. It was a lot of fun. We played articulate and at first it was super hard, then I got better at it. I did really good on everything except the films, music and actors. Because the mission veil is real and I remember nothing! But it's ok, I still won ;) We ate a lot of snacks and chocolate and it was great!
CHRISTMAS DAY!!! Well, the day started with the opening of Presents. We were spoilt by the ward! Then it was time to start cooking! We had a full English breakfast! It was so good if I must say so myself. We then had studies... So we studied the Nativity! :) We had a Christmas Day Service at the Church and then we headed to the Holcombes for the day! Obviously, we had Skype time! That was wicked. It was so good to see everyone! I loved it! It is always weird to skype, but it is always awesome. Then we just had a lot of fun with the Holcombe family. There was Star Wars lightsaber battles going on, we had some fun funny face placemats and some Christmas Bells fun. And you can't go without having the cup song done around the table! It was so much fun! And we had so much food! The food coma is real!
The after we were done at the Holcombes, we went down to the Maizey's house for the second round of Skyping with Sister Beazer's family. Then we had more fun and games before it was time to head home for bed. And boy were we ready for bed! I couldn't wait to sleep that night!
Boxing Day was just as tiring! And we had even more food that day. I have never eaten so much food in my whole life! It was insane! But we went into town to meet up with some of the missionaries and just chill. Actually the Elders were all buying suits so we ended up waiting for them. And then we headed home... On foot... Because the buses weren't running anymore. So we walked the 7.5 Kilometres back to the flat.
The next day we just felt awful. So that was a really fun Sabbath. But by the end of the day we felt a lot better. But we were still super tired. Like soooo tired!
This week has really been awesome. I am so glad that I was lucky enough to be a missionary at this wonderful Christmas season. It is an amazing time to be serving the Lord and to be sharing my testimony of my Saviour.
I love being a missionary! It is the best job ever!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Love you all <3
